Our new place gets lot of sunlight early in the morning along the front. Unfortunately my sons room is in the front. Finding curtains that keep the room dark, and cool, enough has been a challenge. Right now we’re just working with what we’ve got (money is tight). I was excited to come across this giveaway for room darkening curtains!! They feature a thermaback coating, which keeps rooms darker, and cooler. They also come in a variety of colors, which is awesome. I like the black, but probably couldn’t pull that off in my son’s 50’s blue room, so maybe a grey instead. Ends November 23rd, 2011.

I had a lava lamp when I was growing up, it was blue and green. I loved that lamp and held on to it for many years. Then in my early 20’s I decided I was grown up enough to get rid of it and I did, at a yard sale, for $5. To this day I regret selling it, I should have saved it for my child{ren}. It’s just a fun addition to any room.  I particularly love the yellow one pictured above, I think it would be a perfect match for our playroom.  I was surprised to see a giveaway for one, since you know, they’re so RETRO lol. Ends November 23rd, 2011.

Yep, another adorable chefs set toy giveaway is up and running! Like I’ve said before, my kid loves to “serve” us food and drinks and “cook” for us. This would be a fun addition to the playroom until I can get a play kitchen. Ends November 22nd, 2011.

DoughMain is an incredibly useful, and free, financial planning tool website for families. One of the most important goals for me in life is to teach my child(ren) the value and responsibility associated with money. I want him to understand the importance of saving, and sharing, and be able to live stress free (financially) in his adult life. This website is a great starting point. I personally love the allowance tool. As soon as my son is old enough to grasp the concept of chores, we’ll be sure to introduce this. DoughMain is generously offering one lucky winner a $200 Visa gift card – which we all know would come in handy during these tough times. Ends November 23rd, 2011.

Step 2 Taxi

Hosted By: Frugality is Free

My son loves being pushed in his stroller, loves riding in or on anything. We don’t own anything other than a stroller to push him in. He’s too young for something that requires his effort to move (like a bike/pedal car). This Step 2 Taxi would be an awesome win. I’m sure he’d have a blast sitting in it, pretending to drive along the road during one of our evening strolls through the neighborhood. And a cup holder? Icing on the cake for a kid that requires his sippy cup to be with him 24/7.😉 Ends November 23rd, 2011.

A few months ago I received a free sample of Glidden paint in a gorgeous aqua-blue color. The plan is to paint a dresser with it, eventually. This room makeover giveaway would be amazing, since we just moved into a fixer upper just over a month ago. We still have lots to do, and every penny counts. $50 to Wal-Mart and $20 to Home Depot could go a long way for paint and supplies! My next project is the kitchen, that’s going to be a huge undertaking! Ends November 21st, 2011.

My son is 16 months old now. One of his favorite ‘games’ is serving us drinks/food, then preparing another batch of said food/drink. It’s adorable. He even pretends a chair is a drink machine so he can refill the cups. Eventually I want to get him a play kitchen! Right now this cute cooking play set is on my wish list! I’m sure he’d have a blast fixing us some breakfast!!  Ends November 20th, 2011.

I never found a diaper bag that was convenient for us. They were either too small, too big, or didn’t have compartments I found functional enough. We resorted to using a backpack, which was alright for awhile, but again, compartment issues. Bottles would fall and get tossed around. Annoying. I came across this giveaway for a Pacapod diaper bag, the first I’ve ever heard of it. It looks AMAZING. There are pockets for keys and cellphones. Plus the fabric patterns are gorgeous. I’m in love with the one pictured above. Ends November 18th, 2011.

The holidays are approaching, quickly, and we always have a family get together over a yummy dinner my dad usually prepares. I always have a camera in hand. Unfortunately during our move, my digital camera was dropped, resulting in blurry pictures all the times and my Flip HD camera is just MIA.😦 This little Coby Snapp Mini would be an awesome win! It’s compact and unlike my Flip, you can use an SD card! That’s a huge plus for me. My SD cards are my life these days. Ends November 17th, 2011.

We had a travel system for when our son was an infant, but when it was time to upgrade to a big boy seat, I was overwhelmed trying to decide what was the absolutely BEST for him. In the end my mother-in-law bought us a giant gray seat and I honestly don’t even recall the name of it. Since money was tight, we accepted the gift and considered it a done deal in the car seat department. It works fine, but we hate it. Hate that way it fits in our car, hate the way it has a tendency to slide so easily (yes it is installed correctly). So we’re in the market for another car seat. Two, actually. Now that we’re alternating who picks the kid up, having two car seats would be convenient. Enter the Combi Coccoro car seat. I love the look of it! And the reviews online are all great. This would be a great win for anyone needing a car seat for an infant/child up to 40lbs! Ends November 25th, 2011.

Ragu is the only pasta sauce we use. I swear. We use it for spaghetti, baked ziti, stuffed shells, anything! The green pepper and mushroom (preferably chunky), is our favorite. We just moved into a new home a month ago and have yet to host any get togethers here. Granted we’re still living out of boxes, but I’d still like to host something! I think a make-your-own pizza night would be a blast for my friends and their kids! Ragu is offering the lucky winner of this giveaway a $150 American Express gift card to throw your own party! Ends November 15th, 2011.

I love Bright Starts products. We’ve been gifted a few items from their toy line since my son was born and he’s loved them all (even a bouncy seat). He’s just now getting into the phase of climbing and trying to ride things. The second I saw this little car giveaway, I knew I had to enter. It even shoots out balls, ha! Any little kid would love this! Ends November 14th, 2011.

When I was pregnant in 2009/2010, the first 20 weeks I was anxious to find out the sex of the baby. I thought for sure it was a girl. All the old wives tales on pregnancy symptoms pointed to a girl. I have zero patience, so making it to that BIG ultrasound was stress-inducing for me. I wish I had known about IntelliGender! I know it’s not 100% accuracy, but 80+% is still good in my book! Now that we’re actively TTC #2, I’d love a girl (we had a boy in 2010!), this would be fun to try out! Ends November 13th, 2011.

We’ve used a variety of brands of diapers on our 15 month old son. It seems as though with each size, a different brand works better. Right now he’s in a size 4 and we use Pampers, exclusively. For some reason we’ve encountered leaking problems with the other brands. I find that Pampers are slightly wider and more loose than say, Huggies, who tend to be very stiff and tight-fitting – not good for an active toddler. I always jump at the chance to win some diapers. They add up quick, so to save a few bucks and win our preferred brand of diapers would be awesome! Not only do you get the diapers, but you’ll get a box of wipes AND a Let’s Rock Elmo toy! Diapers and wipes to please mom and dads wallets and a toy to please the kid, you can’t beat that! Ends November 14th, 2011.

Being a first time mom, I’ve definitely learned my lessons on what-to-do and what-not-to-do. Since we’re hoping for a second, these lessons will come in handy. For one, I want to breast feed as long as possible! And second, I’d love to make my own baby food! The Baby Bullet System would be an amazing win for that very reason. You can blend your own fruits and veggies, freeze for later use, and save a fortune by not buying jars upon jars of baby foods at the grocery store. I love this healthier, organic approach and hope I get the chance to use it! Ends November 14th, 2011.
